Ediane Silva studied Veterinary Medicine at the Federal University of Goias, Brazil and has a doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine. Since 2021 she is a senior scientist at ARS FADRU as Veterinary Medical Officer (Clinical of African Swine Fever and Classical Swine Fever Program). She is also responsible for coordinate FADRU science transition from PIADC to NBAF. Ediane Silva has more than 20 years of experience working with infectious diasease and the last 8 years she has been dedicated to work with transboundry viruses under high containment conditions (BSL-3), including animal experiment and pathogenesis of food-and-mouth disease. Currently, her research focusses on clinical studies of ASF/CSF and undestanding ASF/CSF host immune response to vaccine candidates.

Ruqia Khan, a prominent researcher in marketing and consumer behavior, has made significant strides in understanding post-COVID-19 vaccine attitudes in Pakistan. Alongside her research on green consumption patterns, she has delved into developing distance-based learning platforms, particularly crucial during crises. Ruqia's interdisciplinary work has been published in esteemed journals, offering valuable insights into consumer behavior, public health, and sustainability. Her dedication extends beyond academia; she actively seeks to apply her findings to drive positive societal change. With a commitment to leveraging marketing insights for the greater good, Ruqia is recognized as a catalyst for progress in her field, shaping strategies and policies that contribute to more informed and resilient communities.

For the past 17 years, I’ve pursued an atypical career path, with extensive hospital experience and a wide range of functions, focusing mainly on microbiology, public health, epidemiology and health emergency management. I have completed a master's degree in microbiology and immunology, master's degree in public health, master's degree in international cooperation and humanitarian aid, master's degree in anthropology, and I’m currently PhD student in epidemiology. On a day-to-day basis, I manage the laboratory aspects of the epidemiological surveillance programme for diseases with epidemic potential at national level. As a research assistant, since 2016 I’ve been actively involved in research into vaccines and vaccination against cholera and other epidemic prone diseases, in particular polio and covid 19. My main career goal is to contribute to the advancement of research on vaccines, vaccination and health systems in order to address global health challenges and improve public health practices in developing countries.
